About Swillington Park

A place to get together, with room to breathe

Set within the parkland of Swillington Farm, just outside Leeds, Swillington Park brings people together for countryside stays, celebrations and time outdoors.

From a weekend with your favourite people at Wild Bells to seasonal events and experiences, we’re creating more ways to enjoy this special corner of Yorkshire.

Meet Victoria and Ed

Swillington Park is run by Victoria and Ed Cartwright, who both grew up on the farm.

With a lifelong connection to the place, they’re creating opportunities for others to enjoy its countryside, celebrate special occasions and spend time together.

A new chapter in a familiar landscape

Swillington’s landscape has changed over the years, but its connection to people and the land remains.

The parkland was once part of the grounds of Swillington Hall. During the First World War, the Hall served as a convalescent hospital for wounded soldiers, offering a place to recover in peaceful countryside surroundings. Although the building is no longer here, traces of its history remain in the landscape and mature trees.

Today, Swillington Park is bringing a new chapter to that setting, creating opportunities to stay, celebrate and spend time here while respecting the character of the place.

Part of the wider Swillington story

Swillington Park sits alongside a working organic farm, where the family has farmed for three generations and more than 50 years.

That working landscape is part of what makes a visit here different. The fields, lakes, woodland and wildlife provide the setting, while the different businesses across Swillington offer their own ways to experience it.

Together, they offer plenty to explore, with stays, activities, and visits arranged through the relevant business.

Looking after what makes it special

We want people to enjoy Swillington without losing the things that make it worth visiting.

For us, that means making thoughtful use of the spaces already here, working with local suppliers and reducing unnecessary single-use items. It also means remembering that this is a working farm and a home for wildlife, as well as somewhere to gather and celebrate.

There’s more to come, and we’re taking care to build on what’s here.
